COVID-19: Caught in the Claws of the Coronavirus, 2020

The last thing any of us would have considered about the events of March, just a few weeks ago, was our cancelling of activities and confining ourselves as we have been now doing. That something invisible to the naked eye, not detectable by touch nor evidenced by scent, would bring us to a stand-still is amazing. Yet, its symptoms and their subsequent affects can be deadly to the elderly and those with prior health issues.

Yet, this emergency does not cancel out the Lord’s promises, nor does it diminish His ability to provide. The Lord Jesus still saves souls! As the Apostle Paul writes to the church in Rome: “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed” (Romans 10:9-11).

Saved from the judgment to come, when every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God (Philippians 2:10-11) and not ashamed when we meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17) because God the Father has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light and has delivered us from the power of darkness, having translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son, in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:12-14).

Trust in the Lord. “ Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: as free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the King (1 Peter 2:13-17).

Use common sense: (1.) Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Wash after going to the bathroom and before eating or preparing food. (2.) Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. (3.) Stay at home if you are sick or asked to remain home-bound by those in charge. (4.) Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then immediately throw the tissue in the trash. (5.) Wipe surfaces clean frequently, and then wash your hands. (6.) Limit physical contact to that which is absolutely necessary.

The events of these days will be talking points for generations to come. Do your best to be among those who will relay the lessons of this day to coming generations. God bless you!
