I will be filling in for Pastor Bill Cole at Faith Baptist Church, Laurens, SC, on Sunday, August 26th.  Sunday School is at 10 a.m., followed by the morning worship service at 11 a.m.  The church serves a meal on the grounds and holds an afternoon service following the meal.

Shirley's last CT-scan has shown increases in her cancer in both the liver and the lungs.  On Tuesday, July 17th, we met with her oncologist.  He had come to the same conclusion Shirley had reached the previous week: the side-effects of the chemo were causing more harm than good.  He has stopped the infusions.  As he stated, "We are entering a new stage of Shirley's cancer."

He has ordered a pill that he wants her to try.  She begins taking the medication August 1st.  Four pills every morning for 21 days, then seven days off.  If she needs to do so, she can drop back to three pills daily.  We should know if they will help her within a few months.  Pray she can tolerate the medicine and that it will help her.

We thank you for your prayers.  God is good, all of the time!  Salvation through Jesus Christ is the greatest gift God can give, and he has provided it for the whole world, if men will receive it by faith.  Shirley is God's child, not because I think so or say so, but because the Scriptures declare that we are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26).  

Shirley received the Lord jesus Christ as her Savior at the age of nine.  Have you received the gift God gave of his only begotten Son, who shed his blood on the cross of Calvary for our sins?
